Django Reinhardt - September Song

Longing for spring, I've been listening to Django Reinhardt's mellower version of September Song. This sweet, wistful song could easily be paired with a light, citrusy Riesling or Champaign cocktail, but since February, I'm going to recommend something a bit heartier to keep the chill out.

Maiden’s Prayer
1 oz. light rum,
1 oz. gin
1 oz. Tripple Sec (Cointreau's 40% alcohol make it my choice!)
1 oz. Fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 Lemon wheel for garnish.

Pour ingredients into an ice filled shaker, swirl, Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with lemon wheel.

  1. Wonderful musician and song! This frigid evening shall find me investigating this combo.

  2. Thanks! I was thinking of doing a write-up on his history, but it felt off-topic. Glad we live i a day and age where you can get a lemon in the winter.
